Every order I make are custom-made to order from start to finish. A 2-3 week notice is appreciated but if you have a big event like a Sweet Sixteen, Quinceañera, Wedding, Corporate event, etc., please try to make your order as soon as possible. It is never too early! For Graduations, Baptisms, First Communions, Christmas parties all those events that happen at the same time for everyone, you need to book early due to my limited availability. I require no less than a 7-day notice for small orders. Anything less is subject to availability and a Rush Fee of 20% or $15.00 - whichever is greater. Do you have allergy-free or gluten-free products?I do not offer any allergy or gluten-free products options. While we offer gourmet products without nuts or gluten, all our desserts are made fresh in the same kitchen. Though safety and sanitation are of the utmost importance to me, the potential for cross-contamination does exist. My kitchen regularly prepares items with products that may contain or come in contact with dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, nut oils, wheat, soy, gluten, coconut and other allergens including almond extract and meringue powder. We cannot prevent cross-contamination in our common prep areas. Our products cannot be certified as allergen-free, nut-free or gluten-free.

How much cake do I need?Serving Size Guidelines Our cake servings are based on a 1” x 2” portion size. Each cake consists of 4 inches of cake, which is sliced into three to four layers, creating a finished height of approximately 5-6 inches. Though the slices may appear narrow, they make up for it in height. We know some of you might prefer larger servings of cake, and that's absolutely fine, we love cake too! However, please remember that our portion guidelines remain the same, regardless of your personal serving size preference. If you wish to serve larger portions, we recommend ordering a larger cake to accommodate your needs. Keep this in mind when selecting the size of your cake.. Cake Consumption Considerations When planning for your wedding cake, it's important to consider the serving sizes and the needs of your guests. If you're offering additional desserts before cutting the cake or setting up a self-serve cake station, you may find that you need less cake overall. Typically, when desserts are available before the cake cutting ceremony, guests tend to indulge in those options, resulting in fewer servings of cake being consumed. In such cases, you might consider ordering about 10% less cake, as the additional desserts can reduce the overall cake consumption. However, if you are serving cake with dinner, you'll need a slice for each place setting, it's essential to ensure you have enough cake for every table and avoid running out before reaching the last table. By adjusting the quantity of cake accordingly, you can ensure that there's still plenty to go around while minimizing waste. Plus, it's always better to have a little extra than to run out too soon!

How many cupcakes do I need, and how many flavors can I choose?"The general rule of thumb for most gatherings is to have approximately 1 1/2 standard-sized cupcakes or 3 mini cupcakes per guest. If cupcakes are part of a dessert table alongside other sweets, you can plan for fewer cupcakes per guest, perhaps around 75-80% of the guest count. However, if you are offering more than one flavor of cupcake you should plan for 1 1/2 per guest.. Keep in mind that the more flavors you have, the more your guests will want to sample. We recommend no more than three flavors.

How much do custom cakes cost?A cake is more than just the ingredients. In most cases, the ingredients are the least expensive part of the cake. You are paying for the labor and expertise of the baker. Pricing is directly linked to the time it takes to complete your order which is determined by the level of design, size of the order, and the ingredients used. Knowing your maximum budget and serving requirements helps me make something you will love. I do not give price quotes over the phone. You must first send an email to check on availability and to receive a price estimate/quote. Detailed information is needed via email (pictures, sketch ideas, etc) before a price can be given.
-
Do you require a Retainer?I accept a limited number of orders for each date, on a first-come-first-served basis. I do not guarantee an order or hold a date until a retainer (non-refundable) of 50% of the order total has been received. I recommend booking your event as far in advance as possible to ensure your date is available. Bookings are made on a first-come, first-pay basis. When I book your event date into my schedule, I turn away all other orders for the same event date. Therefore, all retainers are non-refundable.

What is a Cottage Food Production Operation?Cottage Food Laws, including those in Ohio, pertain to small-scale food operations conducted from home kitchens. These laws typically allow individuals to produce certain types of non-potentially hazardous foods, such as baked goods, jams, and candies, for sale without the need for a commercial kitchen. I can assure you that every possible care is taken to insure clean, sanitary conditions. A Food Cottage Baker is a person who, in the person’s home, produces food items that are not potentially hazardous foods. Food Cottage Bakers are NOT prohibited from having pets under the Ohio Cottage Food law. A “Cottage Food Production Operation” is exempt from inspection and licensing by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. However, all food products are subject to food sampling conducted by the Ohio Department of Agriculture to determine if a food product is misbranded or adulterated.
